Welcome to Tarot Insights ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website and services. By using the application, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. About the Service

Tarot Insights is a digital tool designed for meditation, self-reflection, and personal exploration. It provides tarot card spreads, daily draws, and AI-assisted interpretations to support mindfulness and self-discovery.

Tarot Insights is not a fortune-telling or divination service. The app treats tarot as a reflective framework — a mirror for your thoughts, not a prediction of the future. All content is informational and intended to encourage personal insight.

2. AI-Generated Content Disclosure

Tarot Insights uses artificial intelligence (third-party AI models) to generate card interpretations, reading narratives, and responses to your questions. This means:

  • Readings and interpretations are algorithmically generated, not written by human tarot readers
  • AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, inconsistencies, or unexpected outputs
  • We do not guarantee the relevance, completeness, or accuracy of AI-generated responses
  • AI outputs should not be treated as factual statements, professional guidance, or personal advice

We are committed to transparency about the role of AI in our service, in accordance with the EU AI Act and US FTC guidelines on AI disclosure.

3. No Professional Advice

Nothing provided by Tarot Insights constitutes medical, psychological, legal, financial, or any other form of professional advice. The app is not a substitute for consultation with qualified professionals.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or any emergency, please contact appropriate professional services immediately.

You are solely responsible for how you interpret and act upon any content provided by the app.

4. Eligibility

To use Tarot Insights, you must be:

  • At least 16 years old if you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA), in accordance with GDPR requirements
  • At least 13 years old in all other jurisdictions, or the minimum age required by your country's law, whichever is higher

By using the app, you confirm that you meet the applicable age requirement. If you are under the required age, you may not use the app.

5. User Conduct

By using Tarot Insights, you agree not to:

  • Use the app for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose
  • Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or compromise the app's functionality, security, or infrastructure
  • Submit content that is illegal, hateful, threatening, or that violates the rights of others
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app
  • Copy, reproduce, or redistribute app content without prior written permission
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the app without authorization

6. User-Submitted Content

When you submit questions or input through the app's interactive features (such as the "Ask" feature), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process that content for the purpose of generating your readings.

We do not claim ownership of your submitted content. However, we may retain anonymized and aggregated usage data to improve the service, in compliance with our Privacy Policy.

Do not submit sensitive personal information (health records, financial details, etc.) through the app's input fields.

7. Accounts and Security

Some features require you to create an account. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Notifying us promptly of any unauthorized access

We reserve the right to disable accounts that we reasonably believe have been compromised or are in violation of these Terms.

8. Intellectual Property

All interface elements, app logic, textual interpretations, and supplemental materials created for Tarot Insights are the intellectual property of the developers unless otherwise stated.

The tarot card images used in this application are based on the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot deck, originally illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith under the direction of Arthur Edward Waite, and first published in 1909 by the Rider Company. These images are in the public domain as their copyright has expired in most jurisdictions, including the United States.

We do not claim ownership over these public domain images. AI-generated reading content is provided for your personal use and may not be commercially redistributed.

9. Third-Party Services

Tarot Insights relies on the following third-party services:

  • Firebase (Google) — for authentication, data storage, and analytics
  • Google Gemini AI — for generating card interpretations and reading content

These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We encourage you to review them. We may integrate additional third-party services in the future to enhance the app's functionality, in compliance with these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
  • We make no warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any content
  • We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of, or inability to use, the app
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tarot Insights, its developers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the app.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the app at our sole discretion, particularly in cases of Terms violations or abuse.

Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases immediately. You may request deletion of your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises from these Terms or your use of the app:

  1. Informal Resolution: We encourage you to contact us first so we can attempt to resolve the matter informally.
  2. Applicable Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the app operator resides, without regard to conflict of law principles.
  3. EU Consumers: If you are a consumer in the European Union, you retain any mandatory consumer protections provided by the laws of your country of residence. You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.

14. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated within the app or on our website. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.

Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with any changes, you should discontinue use of the app.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

16. Privacy

Your use of Tarot Insights is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable regulations.
