Welcome to Tarot Insights ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website and services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. About the Service

Tarot Insights is a digital tool for meditation, self-reflection, and personal exploration. It offers tarot card spreads, daily draws, and AI-assisted interpretations designed to support mindfulness and self-discovery.

Tarot Insights is not a fortune-telling or divination service. The Service treats tarot as a reflective framework — a mirror for your thoughts, not a prediction of the future. All content is provided for informational and entertainment purposes and is intended to encourage personal insight.

2. AI-Generated Content

Tarot Insights uses artificial intelligence to generate card interpretations, reading narratives, and responses to your questions. This means:

  • Readings and interpretations are generated by automated systems, not written by human tarot readers
  • AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, inconsistencies, or unexpected output
  • We do not guarantee the relevance, completeness, or accuracy of AI-generated content
  • AI-generated content should not be treated as factual statements, professional guidance, or personal advice

We are committed to being transparent about the role of AI in the Service, consistent with applicable laws and guidance on AI disclosure.

Processing by a third-party AI provider. To generate your readings, the questions and context you submit are sent to a third-party AI provider (currently Google) for processing. By using the AI-assisted features of the Service, you consent to this processing. Your data is never sold, and it is never used for advertising or marketing. If you do not agree to this processing, please do not use the AI-assisted features. Full details are set out in our Privacy Policy.

3. No Professional Advice

Nothing provided by Tarot Insights constitutes medical, psychological, legal, financial, or any other form of professional advice. The Service is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified professional.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or any other emergency, please contact appropriate professional or emergency services immediately.

You are solely responsible for how you interpret and act upon any content provided by the Service.

4. Eligibility

To use Tarot Insights, you must be:

  • At least 16 years old if you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA), or
  • At least 13 years old in all other jurisdictions, or the minimum age required by the laws of your country, whichever is higher

By using the Service, you confirm that you meet the applicable age requirement. If you do not, you may not use the Service.

5. Acceptable Use

When using Tarot Insights, you agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to compromise the Service's functionality, security, or infrastructure
  • Submit content that is illegal, hateful, threatening, or that infringes the rights of others
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the Service
  • Copy, reproduce, or redistribute Service content without our prior written permission
  • Access the Service using automated tools (such as bots or scrapers) without authorization

We may suspend or restrict access where we reasonably believe these rules have been violated.

6. Your Content

When you submit questions or other input through the Service's interactive features, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process that content for the purpose of providing your readings and operating the Service.

We do not claim ownership of the content you submit. We may retain anonymized, aggregated usage data to improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Please do not submit sensitive personal information (such as health, financial, or government identification details) through the Service's input fields.

7. Accounts and Security

Some features require an account. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your login credentials confidential
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Notifying us promptly of any unauthorized access or suspected breach

We reserve the right to suspend or disable accounts that we reasonably believe have been compromised or used in violation of these Terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service — including its interface, design, software, original text, and supplemental materials — is the intellectual property of the operator of Tarot Insights unless otherwise stated, and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

The tarot card images used in the Service are based on the Rider–Waite–Smith Tarot deck, illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith under the direction of Arthur Edward Waite and first published in 1909. These images are in the public domain in most jurisdictions, including the United States, and we claim no ownership over them.

AI-generated reading content is provided for your personal, non-commercial use and may not be redistributed commercially.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on carefully selected third-party providers — for example, for account authentication, data hosting, and AI content generation. These providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Details of which providers receive your data, and what data they receive, are set out in our Privacy Policy.

We may engage additional third-party providers in the future to enhance the Service, consistent with these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied
  • We make no warranty regarding the accuracy, reliability, availability, or completeness of any content
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service
  • Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you are a consumer, you retain all rights granted to you by the mandatory laws of your country of residence.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tarot Insights, its operator, and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service. This obligation applies only to the extent permitted by the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or where we are required to do so by law.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may request deletion of your account data at any time in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

  1. Informal resolution. If a dispute arises, please contact us first — most issues can be resolved informally.
  2. Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the operator of the Service is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
  3. EU consumers. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you retain all mandatory consumer protections provided by the laws of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country. You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you within the app or on our website before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.

Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree with a change, you should stop using the Service.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

16. Privacy

Your use of Tarot Insights is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
